This week we welcomed families into school to experience what learning is like at iCAN. Our Early Years families with children in iCAN PLAY, Nursery, and Reception came along to see how their children learn through play and join in some fun, hands-on activities with their child. Families with children in Years 1-6 signed up for specific lessons ranging from music to maths and took part in the different cooperative learning structures, activities, and games within the sessions. Our Family Learning Day sessions are designed to be very interactive so that families can experience for themselves the benefits of hands-on, cooperative learning. It was so lovely to have so many of you joining us today for our Family Learning Day and Come and Play Day. The learners were delighted to have their families taking part in the activities with them and experiencing what learning is like at iCAN.

For being fantastic at sharing when playing in the role play area with your friends.

For being a risk taker in going up and down the climbing frame during PE time.

For being a respectful and cooperative learner who plays nicely with friends. You are a kind and principled learner. Well done!

For being so cooperative during Family Learning Day. You contributed to class discussions and worked brilliantly with your team.

For being so cooperative during Family Learning Day. You were a principled risk-taker answering questions and amazing with your dad and other adults.

For being a thinker and risk taker sharing your ideas on the carpet, in Maths, Literacy and Learning Journey. Keep it up!

For being an excellent thinker when writing your colour poem using similes and the senses.

For continuing to push your learning to its limits through your curious questioning in literacy lessons.
