Friday 9th September

Work on the Potting Shed begins in the Early Years…

Following on from their Recycling and the Environment Entry Point, Early Years have been busy this week setting up their new outdoor role-play area. Yesterday the learners helped to tidy away all of the toys and set out the new gardening station. Throughout the learning block the learners will be able to make new props and add in new tools to extend their play. This hands-on, messy play is a great way for the learners to independently take risks in their play as well as helping to develop their coordination and motor skills.

Inside the classroom they have been exploring the concept of re-using by making paper clay, toys, and crafts from the leftover paper. The learners have been using upcycled materials in their play such as jars for practising their pouring or transferring skills, decorating old CDs for their art work, and using empty egg trays for filling and emptying.
